I only knew Rob for a few months, and I’ve found it has taken much more time to heal from the shock and disbelief of his death than the time I had to spend with him.  Rob was the sort of person who you could talk to once and feel like you have known him forever.  The first time we hung out was late at night. I waited for him outside, and I saw the shadowy figure carrying some beverage cans. “Do you drink…. Apple juice?” That was Rob.  We had plans for that summer; we were to go golfing behind Charlotte Avenue School.  He asked me nearly every day, but I had exams to study for and could not go out to play.  Exams.  Trivial exams.  A year later, the one year anniversary of his death, I golfed behind the elementary school alone.

I believe Rob touched everyone’s life in this community, even those who did not know him personally.  When I got the phone call telling me what had happened to him, it was from a girl who did not know him and had never spoken to him. She was crying, nonetheless.

The Carr’s faith in God amazes me.  Matt has often offered help to me in the form of bible stories, even though I am not nearly as faithful to religion as he is.  They are a strong family with a strong faith, and they hold on to that faith despite Rob’s death.

Matt was my friend before Rob was.  I have pictures of Matt from my sophomore year, mere months before the accident.  He seemed happy in those pictures.  I was hanging out with Matt the evening of the accident, the last time I saw the old Matt. I now see a constant sadness lingering in him.  A part of Matt died along with his brother that night.  I’ve noticed that Matt has said his goodbyes in hug form since the tragedy.

Rob touched so many lives, more than he could ever have imagined. I love Rob, I miss Rob, and I do not believe there is a single person out there that doesn’t.

Springs 14

Procedures:
1. A spring was held on opposite ends, stretching to 7m.
2. One end was compressed and released, and we recorded the time it took to make 5 round trips.
3. A “loop” was created and we recorded the time it took for 10 cycles of the loop to be complete.
4. We added another loop, and recorded the time it took for 10 more cycles.
5. We then repeated step 4 until 6 other loops were created and their cycles recorded.

Observations:
It was difficult to create more than 4 loops.

Results: see graph.

Conclusions:
The higher the frequency, the higher the speed the waves traveled at.

Percent Error: none

Sources of Error:

Questions:
1. How did the speed of the wave pulse compare with the average speed measured using standing waves?

2. Plot a graph of the wavelength (y-axis) vs. frequency (x-axis). What kind of relationship does the graph show?
The graph shows an indirect relationship.

3. Does the speed of the wave depend on frequency? Back up your answer with your data!
Yes, the more
